Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Web Developer with a strong background in WordPress to join our dynamic team. As a Web Developer, you will be responsible for designing, coding, and modifying websites and web applications, with a focus on WordPress development. You will strive to create visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive web experiences that align with our clients’ needs and business objectives. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of an NQF Level 5 qualification in the field of Website, Application, Software Development, or IT-related studies, coupled with a proven track record of at least 3 years or more relevant website work experience, including expertise in WordPress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, content creators, and project managers to develop innovative web solutions that meet client requirements.
- Design and implement website layouts, user interfaces, and interactive elements to ensure an exceptional user experience.
- Write well-structured, efficient, and maintainable code using industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain responsive web designs that function seamlessly across various devices and screen sizes.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and functionality of websites and web applications.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends, technologies, and tools, and apply them to enhance our projects.
- Conduct regular website maintenance, updates, and optimizations to ensure peak performance and security.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to implement SEO best practices and enhance website visibility.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients and team members as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum NQF Level 5 qualification in Website Development, Application Development, Software Development, or a related IT field.
- 3 years or more of relevant professional experience in web development, with a strong focus on WordPress.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant front-end technologies.
- Extensive experience with WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin development.
- Familiarity with PHP and MySQL, and the ability to write custom code for WordPress projects.
- Solid understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first WordPress development.
- Strong knowledge of web performance optimization and best practices within the WordPress ecosystem.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative WordPress development workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- A portfolio showcasing previous WordPress development projects is highly desirable.
